So, yesterday was Mother’s Day. I got my mom a chocolate gift basket-type deal from Hersheys.com. Pretty good chocolate, which included a one pound bar of chocolate with a custom message hand-written on it. Way early in the morning we went to the Mother’s Day brunch at Chandler’s for Chris’s family. That was pretty good, with a hell of a lot of food. My only problem was the one and a half hour maximum seating time, which, thankfully, was loosely enforced. Also, the waffles were a little chewy, rather than light and fluffy.
And then came the attempt to have a nice dinner at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. Read on to read more about my mixed feelings about that experience.

I guess somebody out there is reading this thing. I just got an e-mail from an old friend at the e-mail address I setup for this blog. - Friday’s “night at the theater” turned out to be better than I thought it would be
- Vegging on Saturday ended up to be a lot of Vice City action
- Dinner with an old college suitemate was pretty good
- I finally did some of the laundry I’ve been putting off for two or three weeks now
- I didn’t see the Simpsons, and I know I’ll probably get some flack for it at work

OK, so I understand blogging has been around for quite some time now. Hell, I’ve been reading Ars Technica, which is sort of a techie blog created by a few of Harvard‘s graduate students, for almost four years now. And .plan files on *nix systems did pretty much the same thing for years before that. I wonder why I didn’t think to use my blog to scribble notes down for work a few weeks ago when I started it.
