Marked Themes

This year’s Christmas CD is a set of themes, one per track. Each person involved submitted a theme, and we all created CDs by choosing songs that fit our interpretation of each theme. Here’s my list:

  1. The song playing in the background when you are walking in slow-motion in the movie of your life
    AC-DCBack in Black
  2. The song playing as people walk past your grave
Third Eye BlindHow’s It Going to Be
  3. The song playing as you get pumped up to go out and face the zombie apocalypse
    Moby and Gwen StefaniSouth Side
  4. The song that no one expects you to love
    Mazzy StarFade Into You
  5. Your theme song as you go off to fight your arch nemesis!
    All-American RejectsGives You Hell
  6. The song everyone else would say is “so you”
    The Weather GirlsIt’s Raining Men

  8. The song that describes your perfect mate
    Rick JamesSuper Freak
  9. The song that must be played during a road trip
    No DoubtJust a Girl
  10. The song you would make love to (not to be confused with song you would listen to while making love – you would actually make love to the song itself)
Janet JacksonThat’s the Way Love Goes
  11. The song that is most likely to cause you to have a “driveway moment” (i.e. you’re driving home, listening to a song on the radio. Suddenly, you find yourself in your driveway (or parking space or parking garage). Rather than turn the radio off, you stay in your car to hear the song to the end.)
    ABBADancing Queen
  12. The song that you wish was on Rock Band but isn’t yet
    BlurSong 2
  13. The song you want to hear last as you get put under for surgery
    Blind MelonNo Rain
  14. The song that you are so ashamed of loving that you actually roll up the car windows when you play/sing it
    Miley CyrusParty in the USA
  15. The last song you heard on your mp3 player/CD player/computer before reading this
Whitney HoustonI Wanna Dance With Somebody

I am not including explanations this time around mostly out of laziness. If enough people want an explanation, I will update this list to include one for each track.
